Description

Location (map at bottom of page)

Boulevard Sebastopol disects the districts of Marais, Chatelet and Montorgeuil, running from the Seine north towards Gare du Nord. Traditionally a wholesale trading quarter, the area is evolving and becoming more exclusive and expensive these days as young professionals arrive here to work in the service and finance sectors centered around the Paris Bourse (home of the CAC40) and the Banque de France. The heaving underground shopping mall of Forum Les Halles and the Pompidou Centre are not far and the area is also blessed with many delightful cafés, restaurants and brasseries.

If you love fashion, rue Etienne Marcel with its eclectic range of designers, Place Victoires and Galerie Vivienne are a must visit. The central position of this apartment will enable you to stroll to the Louvre, Les Tuileries, Opera Garnier and Notre Dame.

The closest Metros are Reamur Sebastopol (lines 3 and 4), Sentier (line 3) and Etienne Marcel (line4) and a little further is Chatelet Les Halles (lines 1,4,7,11,14 and RER A (Eurodisney), D and B direct to CDG and Orly airports.

Building/Access

The building dates from the Haussmannian period and the apartment is on the first floor (no lift) towards the rear of the building, overlooking a quiet street, Rue Greneta. The apartment is accessible through an imposing double front door and entrance hall leading to a marble staircase. Entrance from the street is via a digicode and intercom.

Accommodation

The apartment has restored wooden floors, high ceilings (ca. 11 feet) and tall French windows. There is a large living room with two sofas, one of which opens into a comfortable double bed. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, with enough eating space to host lunch or dinner for 6 people. The bedroom has a double bed and built-in wardrobes. The bathroom has a large bath with shower and is tiled throughout in blue mosaic.

The whole apartment has just been fully renovated in the classic Paris style and would make a very pleasant base for anyone wanting to feel at home in Paris for a few days or weeks.
